KLIGERMAN SEVENTH AT POCONO, GAINS POINTS ON LEADER TIMOTHY PETERS

LONG POND, Pa. (Saturday, August 4, 2012) – Parker Kligerman rallied from a mid-pack starting position to score a seventh-place finish in the Pocono Mountains 125 Saturday afternoon at Pocono Raceway.

Kligerman, who started 17th in the 36-truck starting field, claimed his seventh top 10 finish in 11 races this season.  He gained 14 points on championship leader Timothy Peters and sits sixth in the standings, 35 points out of the lead.

“You’ve got to take days like that when were 17th in practice and qualifying and just say hey, let’s make the most of it,” Kligerman said.  “Everyone on this Cooper Standard Ram team did that and I’m proud of all these guys.  They don’t give up.  We want to fight for this championship so bad and we know we’ve given a little bit up and we know whom we’re up against.”

Kligerman raced Ty Dillon hard for sixth-place during the closing laps of the race.  Try as his may he couldn’t hold off his rival, who slipped by on the final lap of the race.

“Ty is a clean racer and we’ve raced a bunch this season,” Kligerman said.  “We always seem to end up in these last lap duels and hopefully we can do that for the championship at the end of the year because he’s a real clean race and I like racing him.”

Kligerman made his scheduled pit stop on lap 22 of the 50-lap, 125-mile race.  In their haste the team didn’t fully empty the first fuel can but fortunately were able to pit during the first caution of the race on lap 30.

“We had a game plan and you know we sort of got lucky on the first stop,” crew chief Doug Randolph said.  “We timed our fuel.  We got enough for the second can but the first can wasn’t full.  Actually on one of the cautions we came in and everybody behind us came in so we were able to top off and make sure we had no issues with fuel the rest of the race.  As many cautions as there were we would have been fine anyway.”

Joey Coulter scored the victory at Pocono, edging second-place James Buescher by 1.224 seconds.  Coulter grabbed his first win in 36 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts.  He averaged 121.523 mph in a race that took just 1 hour, 1 minute and 43 seconds to complete.  The race was slowed by three cautions for 12 laps.
