In August 2011, the Company announced that it would invest $72 million to produce steering columns, and new generation torque converters for the eight-speed rear-wheel-drive and nine-speed front-wheel-drive transmissions. Nearly two years later in April 2013, the Company announced an additional investment of $19.6 million to increase capacity of the nine-speed torque converter.

In August 2018, FCA announced that the plant would produce a key component for first plug-in hybrid Jeep®. Toledo Machining will build the critical Power Electronics module for the Jeep Wrangler PHEV, scheduled to launch in 2020, positioning the facility to play a key role in helping the Company meet future regulatory requirements.
