The Randstad Award began in Belgium in the year 2000 and is now presented each year to the most attractive employers in 25 countries. This is the sixth year for the Canadian awards, which recognize 150 stand-out employers by asking those surveyed how appealing the selected companies are as a potential employer, plus 10 factors that determine perception of the employer brand, i.e. financial health, long-term job security, a good work-life balance and strong management. There are 9,500 respondents per country - both employees and job-seekers - between the ages of 18 and 65. They are asked for their views on a country’s largest companies via an online questionnaire. Companies cannot apply or pay to take part in the Randstad survey. They are selected through national statistics agencies.
