June 26, 2020 , Windsor, Ontario -  Today, on the “front doorstep” of the Windsor Assembly Plant, FCA Canada gifted the organizers of the Windsor-Essex Miracle Food Drive with a “truckload” of food to kick off their campaign. The donation consisted of an FCA Transport truck loaded with six full pallets of non-perishable food, valued at $12,000.

The organizing committee is asking residents of Windsor and Essex County to place non-perishable donations on their front doorsteps on Saturday, June 27 for volunteers to collect door-to-door, as well as at dedicated drop-off locations throughout the city and county.

“FCA Canada is proud to kick off this important campaign with an early donation and we hope that will inspire other businesses and individuals to take part in this noble community effort to help combat hunger during these challenging times,” said Dave Buckingham, President and CEO, FCA Canada.

Adam Lally, organizing committee member, Windsor-Essex Miracle Food Drive, said: “When the Miracle Food Drive event started, we had hoped that the business community in Windsor-Essex would get behind it. To see FCA Canada step up and get involved like they have is something that shouldn’t surprise anyone. They have been amazing supporters of this community in too many ways to count over the years. This is another demonstration of their commitment to Windsor and Essex County.”

The items collected will be distributed to the Windsor-Essex Food Bank Association and Unemployed Help Centre.
