October 31, 2018 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 86,053 vehicles in the U.S. to reflash a powertrain controller.

These vehicles may – in rare instances – exhibit engine stall during deceleration, most often while slowing to a stop. If a stall occurs under these circumstances, the engine may be immediately restarted.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

The campaign is limited to certain 2019 Jeep Cherokee SUVs equipped with 2.4-liter engines, which account for a fraction of the model’s population. Most 2019 Cherokees are equipped with one of the other two available engines.

FCA US will advise affected customers when they may schedule service.

Customers with concerns may contact their dealers or call the FCA US Recall Information Center at (800)-853-1403.

Additional vehicles are being recalled in Canada (est. 2,293) and Mexico (est. 12).
