FCA México Reports March Sales of 7,280 Units

  • FCA México reported March sales of 7,280 units, up 3 percent versus prior month
  • Fiat Mobi and Fiat Palio Adventure recorded best March ever
  • Jeep® Wrangler set a new sales record; best March in its history
  • Ram ProMaster Rapid achieved best sales month ever and Ram 700 recorded best March ever
Mexico City April 3, 2018 - In March, FCA México recorded sales of 7,280 units, up 3 percent versus prior month.
 
"As part of our strategy to continue offering a wide range of products, we unveiled the 2019 Jeep® Cherokee last month, the most capable compact SUV in the market, with new and revamped features," said Bruno Cattori, President & CEO of FCA México. "With this launch, Jeep becomes the most updated brand in the market.” 
 
Alfa Romeo Brand
Last month, Alfa Romeo sold 23 units. The Alfa Romeo MiTo showed a sales growth of 11 percent compared to prior year.
 
In March, the Alfa Romeo Giulia was named a 2018 Editors’ Choice by Car and Driver magazine. During the New York International Auto Show, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio was recognized as 2018 Crossover of the Year by Popular Mechanics.
 
Chrysler Brand
Chrysler recorded sales of 35 units. Last month, the 2018 Chrysler Pacifica was named Best Minivan in New York Daily News Autos Awards for the second consecutive year. 
 
Dodge Brand
Dodge had sales of 1,992 units. The Dodge Attitude recorded sales of 1,203 units. The Attitude sedan has the best fuel efficiency in Mexico. The Dodge Neon and Dodge Vision sold 242 units and 143 units, respectively.
 
FIAT Brand
Fiat sold 902 units, up 16 percent versus prior month. The Fiat Mobi, the vehicle that combines practicity and innovation for a new ride experience, sold 449 units, an increase of 8 percent versus prior year. Fiat Palio Adventure sales improved 67 percent versus 2017, achieving its best March in its history. Fiat Ducato sales rose 63 percent compared to 2017 for the Ducato's best March since 2012. The Fiat Uno registered sales of 328 units.
 
Jeep Brand
Jeep continued its strong sales performance, registering a sales increase of 36 percent versus last year with 1,123 units. For the fifth month in a row, the Jeep Wrangler registered a sales increase, with 413 units sold, its best March ever. The Jeep Renegade sold 290 units, leading the premium small SUV segment. The Jeep Grand Cherokee sold 237 units, while the Jeep Compass sold 172 units, leading the premium compact SUV segment.
 
Two months after its auto show debut, FCA México unveiled the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, the most capable compact SUV in the market with a new, original and state-of-the-art design.
 
Mitsubishi Motors
Mitsubishi Motors Mexico sold 1,228 units, an increase of 9 percent versus the previous month. A few months after its arrival to the Mexican market, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport obtained its best March sales. This new-generation SUV offers better performance with the best equipment and a new design. For the third month in a row, the Mitsubishi Outlander, recognized multiple times as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, showed an increase of 20 percent versus 2017. The Mitsubishi L200 sold 482 units, a 11 percent sales improvement compared to March 2017.
 
Ram Truck Brand
The Ram brand sold 1,977 units, an improvement of 5 percent over the prior month. Vehicles of the Commercial Ram division, Ram 700 and Ram ProMaster Rapid set new sales records. The Ram ProMaster Rapid achieved its best sales month ever with 443 units, while the Ram 700 achieved its best March ever by posting sales of 900 units, up 20 percent and 3 percent, respectively.
