WHAT: The Chrysler brand will debut its “Pacifica Play Zone” at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit from Saturday, January 16 through Sunday, January 24
To celebrate the reveal of the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, the Chrysler brand invites guests to visit its inaugural Pacifica Play Zone at the FCA booth at NAIAS in Detroit from Saturday, January 16 through Sunday, January 24. Located on the upper level overlooking the FCA booth, the Pacifica Play Zone invites parents and their children to interact with the features of the minivan through immersive experiences, including the Uconnect Game Center, which creates a larger-than-life interactive experience across multiple 65-inch touch screens. Visitors can play games and compete against one another for prizes, including the “Stow ‘n Go Showdown,” in addition to learning about the science of hybrid technology from representatives of the Michigan Science Center. A 360-degree photo opp gives every family the chance to take a picture of themselves in the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica against one of three selected backgrounds, including a moonscape. The Exterior Design Center invites adults and children to color and stylize their own image of the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacific and share their own creation via social media. With comfortable seating, parents can connect their mobile devices in the Recharge Lounge while their children participate in hands-on experiments that allow them to design their own wind turbines and electronic building blocks/circuits using littleBits as they connect motors, wheels, lights and switches.
*The space features a Graffiti Wall painted by local Detroit artist Shades (on site Saturday, January 16 only) and will feature live music (Saturday, January 16 only) from the children’s musical act Beat Buds.
WHERE: Cobo Center; 1 Washington Blvd, Detroit, MI 48226
WHEN: Saturday, January 16 through Sunday, January 24
WHY: To provide a unique spot on the floor of the Detroit Auto Show for parents and their children to interact together and to celebrate the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
  • Graffiti Wall highlightis the Chrysler Pacifica as painted by Detroit artist Shades.
  • Uconnect Game Center creates a larger than life interactive experience, allowing guests to play the new Uconnect games available in the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, including Checkers, Tic-Tac-Toe, Bingo, Math Flash Cards and Hanging Fruit, on an interactive wall with five 65-inch touch screens.
  • 360-degree Photo Opp (highlighting the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica) allows guests to have a sharable photo experience through social media. With the family in the all-new Chrysler Pacifica, the camera will build them into one of three selected backgrounds, including a moonscape.
  • Surround Sound Experience allows guests to interact with the front dash controls, programs and touch screen.
  • Clean-Up Zone is a game experience for guests (highlighting the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica’s Stow ‘n Vac built-in vacuum) giving them the opportunity to compete against each other for prizes. Four vacuums are used to create a Hungry Hippos-style game of collecting objects in a timed race with other players.
  • Hybrid Science Zone is a traveling experience from the Michigan Science Center that focuses on energy.
  • Hands-on Experiments:
    • Electronic Building Blocks: Design circuits using littleBits as you connect motors, wheels, lights and switches. This hands-on activity will show guests how circuits look and how they work, if connected correctly.
    • Renewable Energy – Wind Turbines: Design your own wind turbine to generate electricity. Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power, which can be used for specific tasks.
    • Renewable Energy – Circuit Design: Learn about environmentally friendly energy and how electricity in your home works as you design your own electronic project. Renewable energy is generally described as energy that comes from replenished resources, such as wind, sunlight, water and heat.
    • Potato Simple Circuit: Using a potato as a battery you can light up an LED light. The potato acts as an electrochemical battery, which means chemical energy is converted to electric energy by a spontaneous electron transfer.
  • Exterior Design Center allows you to interact with the exterior of the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, including a coloring tool inviting guests to color and stylize their own image, including the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacific, and to share their own creation via social media.
  • Uconnect Theater demonstrates the rear-seat entertainment and connectivity options in an immersive experience.
  • Stow ‘n Go Showdown displays the function of Chrysler brand’s exclusive Stow ‘n Go to adults while creating an entertaining competition for the family set against a time clock.
  • Recharge Lounge provides parents a comfortable place to sit and recharge their devices while their children experience all the Pacifica Play Zone possibilities.
