Major expansions were implemented in 1965 and 1998. In August 2010, the Company announced it would invest $27.2 million to produce front and rear crossmembers for future vehicles. On Aug. 1, 2022, Stellantis announced a $99 million dollar total investment for three North American plants for production of a new 1.6-liter, I-4 turbocharged engine that has both direct fuel injection and flexibility for hybrid-electric vehicle (HEV) applications. Nearly $2 million will be invested at Etobicoke to support the development and installation of new tooling and equipment upgrades for production of the oil pan for the engine. (Updated: December 2022)
