Stellantis Media Site Navigation System                                                Contact:                                                             Cole                         Quinnell                                                                                                                                                                                   Navigation System                                                                                      Description Chrysler Group vehicles utilize a DVD-based navigation system that works with the vehicle's audio system to deliver intuitive audio commands, allowing the driver's eyes to stay on the road. Chrysler Group navigation offers coast-to-coast directions and millions of points of interest (ATMs, hospitals, restaurants and so on) without subscription fees. Chrysler Group is the first automotive manufacturer to offer MP3 capability in a navigation system, allowing customers to listen to their favorite MP3-format tunes on CD. System Overview    The navigation displays and controls are housed in the center of the vehicle's dashboard (Chrysler Pacifica display is located within the speedometer in the instrument cluster)   Data is on a single DVD, which contains detailed mapping, points of interest and business phone numbers across the U.S.  The system receives its global positioning system (GPS) signals from up to eight satellites to display the position and direction of the vehicle   A gyroscope and the vehicle's speed sensor enable the system to display the vehicle's current position, even in locations where a GPS signal is not available   The system effectively calculates the quickest and most accurate route  When equipped with UConnect™, the navigation radio becomes compatible with the hands-free module within the system to allow the user to place voice-activated calls to addresses located within the navigation system's information database   Chrysler Group navigation take rates increased by 30 percent from the 2004 to 2005 model year    System Operation    Map zoom – select from nine different zoom scales to increase or decrease map magnification  Voice guidance – select maximum, normal or minimum volume, or off  Route guidance – view the screen as a turn-by-turn map, full display map or a combination of both  Three language options – select English, French or Spanish  Five routing methods – shortest route, quickest route, minimize toll roads, maximum freeway or minimum freeway  Automatic route recalculation and detour functions – system automatically recalculates and displays a new route should the user encounter a detour or stray from the directions indicated on the display   The maneuver list – review the trip itinerary prior to departure and make changes before heading out on the road  Trail function – obtain longitude, latitude and altitude readings    Availability Starting with the launch of the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica, Chrysler Group now offers navigation systems on:   Chrysler 300*, Town & Country minivan, Sebring, Crossfire and Pacifica  Dodge Magnum*, Charger*, Stratus, Caravan minivan, Durango* and Ram*  Jeep® Commander*, Grand Cherokee* and Liberty * The navigation system in these vehicles also provides MP3 music format playback     Price Navigation factory installation starts at around $1,100. A Mopar® navigation system is also available as a dealer-installed option, starting at $869 (suggested retail price) plus labor.
