Statement: Software Calibration

March 29, 2017 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -  FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 25,593 small cars in the U.S. to update the software calibration that helps control accelerator-pedal function.

An FCA US review of field data led the Company to discover certain vehicles may hesitate momentarily in rare circumstances – when the driver initiates a pedal input after easing up almost to the point of release.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents.

The condition, if it occurs, can be resolved by fully releasing the pedal and re-initiating pedal input.

Affected are certain model-year 2014 Fiat 500L cars. Additional vehicles, estimated to number 4,080, are affected in Canada.

Customers will be advised when they may schedule service.

FCA US urges customers to heed the instructions on their recall notices. Those with questions or concerns may call the FCA US Customer Care Center at (800)-853-1403.
