Statement: Propshaft

February 18, 2017 , Auburn Hills, Mich. -  FCA US LLC is recalling an estimated 69,298 full-size, all-wheel-drive cars in the U.S. to replace their front propshaft bolts.

An FCA US review of warranty data led to a Company investigation that determined the drivelines of some vehicles may not have been assembled according to specification. As a result, certain bolts may loosen over time. This condition could ultimately cause the vehicles' front propshafts to become disconnected, creating  potential for underbody damage and/or partial propulsion loss.

FCA US is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. The recall is limited to vehicles equipped with all-wheel drive.

Affected are certain 2014-2017 Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger sedans. Additional vehicles are affected in Canada (est. 5,312) and certain markets outside the NAFTA region (est. 347).

Affected customers will be advised when they may schedule service.

FCA US urges customers to heed the instructions on their recall notices. Those with questions or concerns may call the FCA US Customer Care Center at (800) 853-1403.
