TALK ABOUT YOUR RACE TONIGHT: “It’s a rare time that our Reese Towpower RAM team misses it and tonight was one of those nights. We showed up with a brand new truck and we weren’t able to figure it out. It’s disappointing because we ran runner-up here last spring and tonight we just missed. We just could never get the truck like we needed it to be and that’s frustrating. Doug (Randolph, crew chief) and the team worked really hard on this RAM and tonight just wasn’t our night. We didn’t lose too many points to the leaders but we didn’t gain any like we wanted to coming into the weekend.”

YOU SHOWED PATIENCE OF A VETERAN WHEN YOUR TRUCK WASN’T AT ITS BEST TONIGHT: “You just have to drive the truck. You can’t lose your focus and have to stay calm behind the wheel. Anything can happen in these races and you can’t win the race if you’re not there at the end.”

YOU WERE RUNNING INSIDE THE TOP 10 WITH UNDER 25 LAPS TO GO AND IT LOOKED LIKE THE TRUCK JUST STALLED FROM THERE: “I thought that some of the guys contending for the championship knocked themselves out of the race when they got together. I didn’t think that I had a truck that could win but I was hoping to sneak into the top-five and steal one here tonight. We just stalled and could never move any forward. We just missed it. It’s so competitive in this sport that if you just miss it by a tiny bit it’s going to bite you in the butt. Tonight we missed it.”

IT WAS A TOUGH NIGHT FOR THE 29 TRUCK TONIGHT: “Yeah, it was frustrating night. We just didn’t have the piece that we needed when we got here. It’s a new truck that hasn’t been to the wind tunnel and we were hoping that it was as good or better than what we’ve had and it wasn’t. We just sort of fought that and it’s really tough when you’d like to do better. We knew that we weren’t going to fix (it) on pit road tonight. We just had to dig and get as much as we could and try to fix it for the next race.”
