Statement: Floor mats

November 6, 2018,  Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is voluntarily recalling an estimated 4,822 vehicles in the U.S. to replace their driver-side floor mat.

A customer complaint led to an FCA US investigation that discovered these floor mats may inadvertently trap the accelerator pedal in certain vehicles.

The Company is unaware of any related injuries or accidents. Further, all FCA US vehicles are equipped with brake-throttle override, a safety feature that cancels a sustained accelerator-pedal input when it detects simultaneous brake-pedal and accelerator-pedal application.

The recall affects certain 2018 Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT and Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk SUVs. Approximately one-third of these vehicles are in dealer hands.

Customers will be advised when they may obtain replacements from dealers. In the interim, FCA US advises owners of these vehicles to remove their driver-side floor mat.

Dealers are currently removing the driver-side floor mat from vehicles in their control.

The Company is also recalling an estimated 11 sets of these same floor mats, which were sold as accessories between November 2017 and March 2018.

Customers with concerns may use online search engines such as the one at www.recalls.mopar.com to determine if their vehicles are in the recall population. Alternately, they may contact their dealers or call the FCA US Recall Information Center at (800) 853-1403.

Additional vehicles are being recalled in Canada (est. 996), Mexico (est. 164) and certain markets outside the NAFTA region (est. 763).
